Finance & Tax Collection

Barbara Klingerman - Tax Collector

The tax collector is an elected position for a 4 year term.  Barbara collects Real Estate and Per Capita taxes for Salford Township, Montgomery County and Souderton Area School District.

Please make all checks payable to: SALFORD TOWNSHIP TAX COLLECTOR. Personal checks, mortgage company checks, and money orders are accepted. The exception to this is the final 2 weeks of December - only bank checks, money orders are accepted. You may contact the Tax Collector with any questions by email salfordtwsptaxcollector@gmail.com or by phone, 215-257-5093; message can be left on voicemail.

Application for a Retired Person's $10.00 Processing Fee on a Vehicle Registration: These forms are available at the Township building for those persons whose total income for the previous year did not exceed $19,200 provided you are the principal driver of the vehicle and are not physically or mentally incapable of driving and that your occupation is "retired" through  IRS income tax filings.

Moving: If you decide to move out of Salford Township and you have been enrolled in the Homestead/Farmstead program (a reduction of your real estate tax for Souderton Area School District will be evident on your School Real Estate tax bill) please fill out a Homestead/Farmstead Removal Form (available at the Township Building or by contacting the tax collector or the Montgomery County Board of Assessment).  By doing this, you will be removed from the Montgomery County listing which will enable you to apply for the Homestead/Farmstead reduction at your new residence. The new taxing body will not approve your Homestead/Farmstead in their jurisdiction without evidence from your previous tax collecting body (Montgomery County Board of Assessment) without this proof.

Please refer to the sub-categories under Finance & Tax Collection for further information.

Barbara can be reached at 215-257-5093 or salfordtwsptaxcollector@gmail.com
