Park Board

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board was formally authorized by Ordinance #24, adopted June 5, 1963.

The Park Board mission is to enhance the quality of life of Township residents and foster a sense of community by making recommendations of ways:

  • Preserving and conserving natural resources
  • Maintaining and developing recreational facilities
  • Providing recreational, social, cultural as well as educational programs and opportunities for people of all ages.

The purpose of the Park Board shall be serve in an advisory capacity, assist and advise the Board of Supervisors in the following areas:

  1. Identifying the recreation and park needs of the Township.
  2. Recommend recreational programs for approval by the Supervisors.
  3. Recommend plans, programs and policies regarding the provision of recreational and educational activities.
  4. Advising the Supervisors on the maintenance, acquisition and development of parklands.

Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to a five (5) year term.
