Mailboxes

Mailboxes can sometimes present a problem to the Public Works Department when they are performing snow plowing, road sweeping and paving. Please check the condition and position of your mailbox. It is not permitted to have your mailbox extend over the edge of the road. Property owners are encouraged to ensure your mailbox is 42” and 46” in height and a minimum of 6” behind the face of the curb or 12” off the edge of the roadway without curbs.

Accidents do happen – and if your mailbox has been damaged during plowing operations, please notify Salford Township as soon as possible.
